ESD E913 Shoe
ESDIn ESD (EPA) areas, environments sensitive to electrostatic phenomena, it is compulsory to use approved dissipative occupational footwear complying with European EN61340-5-1 standard, which provides as follows:
When the footwear/metallic plate system is used the resistance value shall range between:
5x104 Ohm (1x105 for shoe) e1 x 108 Ohm
When the footwear/floor system is used as the main method for the unloading on earth, the total resistance of the combinatiom shall be between:
7.5x105 Ohm e3.5 x 107 Ohm
Dissipative footwear, besides a conformity mark. shall also indelibly bear the logo stamped in black on a yellow background, which identifies their specific characteristics.
Through its sole construction ESD footwear provides safe, controlled method of discharging the static electricity that accumulates in your body. The tolerances for the resistance of ESD footwear are stricter (100K0 35MO) than for ordinary antistatic footwear. Wearing ESD footwear can help you avoid damage to sensitive electronic equipment.
